Women harassed outside RBI over Rs 2,000 note exchange

Chaos unfolded on Thursday morning as women queuing outside the Reserve Bank of India to exchange Rs 2,000 notes were allegedly harassed by individuals demanding cut money. Reports suggest that if the women refused to comply, they were subjected to attacks with knives. A confrontation ensued between Ward 45 councilor Santosh Pathak and Wasim, leading to injuries among the councilor's supporters. While Congress blames Trinamool for the incident, the latter denies any involvement, stating that the perpetrators are not affiliated with the party.

The situation turned violent as some unruly elements targeted women outside the Reserve Bank of India, demanding cut money in exchange for currency exchange services. The altercation escalated when Councilor Santosh Pathak intervened, resulting in clashes between his supporters and Wasim's group. Congress has accused Trinamool of orchestrating the violence, but the ruling party has issued a written clarification, asserting that the individuals responsible are not associated with Trinamool. Investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind the attack.
